Does anyone know of a module/algorithm for calculating shipping carton selections for automated box designations on order fulfillment, i.e., the system tells you which size boxes to use, and what items to put in each one, based on cube/weight data and shipper restrictions?
Many systems incorporate their own "secret sauce" algorithm. Anyone care to share details on how it works? I'd also like input from users on how well these modules work.
Seems to me this would be a perfect opportunity for a Web services component, don't you think?
